Title

Had some pretty interesting stuff happen in the last few days.

First of all, the wager was made to not touch the flowing locks that are growing out my head. We still haven't worked out what the loser has to do. But I can tell you right now the loser won't miss the fact that his head will be a bazillion times cooler. Its just so hot outside. I've always wanted long hair, just to say at some point I had it. I always thought it was cool to see old pictures of my family with ridiculously bad hair. I haven't ever really taken too much of a chance with mine during my "adult" life. I did, however, have a totally sweet rat tail in 3rd grade that went down to my butt (oh how the ladies loved me). I figure that I can at least do some fun stuff with it once its long when I decide to cut it. I fully plan on having a mullet for a day or so.

Fake prom is this Thursday at Dennis.' I'm pretty stoked about my pink shirt with my tux. Theme nights are a blast.

Played some pretty awesome new games that are coming out for 360. I won't go into details about them, but they both really blew my mind at how much fun they were. Now I just have to come up with the bucks to buy them.

I was introduced to combing my beard. Yeah it's weird. It does feel good and is very relaxing. It seems that the guys who include a beard comb in with every single cheap beard trimmer you buy are actually on to something.

I don't really have any major life-changing things to talk about. Just a bunch of random stuff.

Thanks for stopping by.

To Quote Jerry Rubin

"Young kids identify short hair with authority, discipline, unhappiness, boredom, rigidity, hatred of life - and long hair with letting go. Wherever we go, our long hair tells people where we stand on Vietnam, Wallace, campus disruptions, dope. We're living commercials for the revolution. Long hair is the beginning of our liberation from the sexual oppression that underlies the whole military society."

Are you rebelling against something?

Justin is a rebel... He is rebelling against the loneliness in his bedroom.

I had never thought of it that way. I don't think I'm rebelling against anything. I don't have a whole lot of authority figures in my life that are really worth the effort to rebel against. Although, that is a fantastic quote.

anonymous number 1 - You mean wall candy? Because that stuff is delicious.

Here is a wierd fact for you to think about before you fall asleep tonight, and I think that it fits well into the hair discussion. Also to lessen the confusion I will be known as anonymous #2 AKA A-2. Some people wonder why I choose to stay anonymous and you know what I say?? Because I can!!

Julius Caesar was bald, which is ironic because the name Caesar, from the Latin "caesaries," means "abundant hair."

Did you ever find it funny that catholic schools are some of the only schools that have requirements on hair length... Yet they want you to follow in Jesus's foot steps and Jesus had hair longer than his shoulders.

Did you title that last post as "title" or did yu just not title it and that was the default. If you titled it as TITLE that is funny... If you didnt mean it as funny, well then I dont have anything...

TONIGHT IS GOING TO BE A BLASTY!!!

Actually, Jesus probably had his hair cut short and not as long as it is portrayed. This historical inaccuracy has been perpetuated by crossing two words.

Jesus is referred to in the bible as Jesus of Nazareth. This title sounds very similar to the term Nazarite, which was a religious sect that kept their hair long. In reality, just being from Nazareth did not mean he was a Nazarite (which he wasn't), therefore there were no religious implications that would have caused him to have long hair.

It is far more likely that Jesus had a short Roman haircut as was indicative of the times. Long hair was very, very rare. I'm sure Jesus' hair was long when he got done spending 40 days in the wilderness, but from a historical perspective we have no concrete reason to believe his hair was long, and all kinds of empirical evidence that he had shorter hair.

Who knows, maybe all the great artists painted him that way because long hair is a sign of rebellion. Jesus was probably one of the biggest rebels in history.

Oh, and the title of the blog being "Title" was a intentional creative choice.

Or maybe I just couldn't think of anything and thought it would be funny.

I like it... a nice history lesson along with some comedy... even if the comedy has to be explained at times.

Love the Jesus post. I like to think that I know a little bit about Jesus but that is something I never knew. Unfortunately it blew my Ceaser fact out of the water.

Good One!

Well, my degree is in history and Jesus's life just happens to be what I consider the most important period in history. Due to my personal beliefs for one, but also due to the fact that 30 years had on the world. I mean our entire modern Western world is shaped by what people think about his life. Its so controversial and pretty much just an awesome story. I wasn't trying to one-up you at all, the conversation just kind of came like a fastball through my wheelhouse... I had to swing at it. ;)

I love Roman history as well and I did not know the origin of Caesar's name. I actually meant to say that I had never heard that but I got carried away blowing my hot air all over the place.
